The Senior Manager Communications, Sub Saharan Africa supports the execution of internal and external communication activities aligned with the SSA strategy. This includes managing above-country therapeutic area (TA) campaigns, product launches, internal storytelling, and employee engagement initiatives. The role works closely with global, regional, and local stakeholders to ensure aligned, high-quality execution.

About the Role

Role Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of proactive communication plans and campaign content
  • Deliver communication programs for therapeutic areas, pipeline launches, and product milestones
  • Execute brand and reputation campaigns across SSA
  • Coordinate internal communication activities including newsletters, intranet updates, and associate engagement
  • Provide tactical support for stakeholder communication and media engagement
  • Contribute to crisis preparedness and support Director in rapid response scenarios
  • Monitor and report on communication performance and engagement analytics
  • Ensure consistent messaging across countries and channels
  • Collaborate with global and country teams to align execution with overarching strategy

  • Internal feedback and employee participation in comms initiatives
  • Support and impact of launch campaigns and TA communications
  • Consistency and alignment across channels and markets
  • Contribution to successful stakeholder and media engagement
  • Execution support during crisis or reputational issues

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in communications, preferably in multi-country roles
  • Fluent in English and French an advantage
  • Experience in campaign management and content creation across channels
  • Strong storytelling and writing skills
  • Collaborative, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities
  • Experience in healthcare or life sciences preferred
